- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare an 8×8-inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
- Mix in a medium bowl the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well-blended.
- Melt the butter and vegetable oil in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Combine the melted butter and oil with granulated sugar and water in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
- Combine the dry mixture into the wet mixture gently.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes and check doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
