Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the blackberries with 1/2 cup of sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Spoon the blackberries over the batter without mixing.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown on top.
  8. Allow to cool slightly and serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
