- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hoagie rolls or sandwich bread
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.
- Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it into thin strips.
- Return the sliced chicken to the skillet, add the softened cream cheese and stir until melted and coating the chicken.
- Mix in the sautéed vegetables.
- Fill hoagie rolls or sandwich bread with the chicken mixture.
- Top with shredded provolone cheese.
- For an extra touch, bake at 350°F for 5-10 minutes until cheese melts and bread gets crispy.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
