Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
4 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup powdered sugar
2 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
Butter and cocoa powder (for greasing molds)
Optional toppings: powdered sugar, fresh berries, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Generously butter heart-shaped ramekins or molds and dust with cocoa powder.
2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate together in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
3. Whisk powdered sugar into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
4. Add eggs and egg yolks, whisking until smooth and glossy.
5. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
6. Gently fold in flour just until incorporated.
7. Divide batter evenly among prepared molds.
8. Place molds on a baking sheet and bake for 12–14 minutes, until edges are set and centers remain soft.
9. Let cakes rest for 1 minute, then carefully invert onto serving plates.
10. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with desired toppings.

Batter can be prepared ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours — add 1 minute to bake time.
