Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the mixture and cut into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the cream: Gradually pour in the heavy cream and stir until the dough comes together.
- Knead and shape the dough: On a floured surface, gently knead the dough a couple of times and shape it into a round about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the shortcakes: Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

- Prepare the strawberries: Mix sliced strawberries with powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
