A delightful twist on traditional sushi, combining fresh strawberries and creamy filling with sushi rice and nori.
Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries
- Sweet rice (sushi rice)
- Cream cheese
- Sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Nori sheets (seaweed)
Instructions
- Cook the sweet rice according to package instructions and allow to cool to room temperature.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Lay a nori sheet shiny side down on a clean surface.
- Using wet hands, spread a thin layer of cooled rice over the nori, leaving an inch at the top edge free.
- Slice fresh strawberries and place them over the layer of rice.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
- Carefully roll the sushi away from you, pressing down gently, and wet the edge of the nori to seal it.
- Use a wet knife to slice the sushi into bite-sized pieces.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream or chocolate sauce for dipping. Best consumed within 1-2 days when stored properly.
