Description
A delightful dish combining sweet and savory flavors of honey and garlic with hearty sausage and pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz pasta (such as penne or fusilli)
- 1 lb sausage (Italian or smoked, sliced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add 12 oz of pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned.
- Whisk together 1/4 cup honey, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, and 1/4 cup soy sauce in a small bowl until well combined.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the browned sausage in the skillet, stirring well to coat. Allow to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Toss the drained pasta into the skillet with the sausage and sauce, gently mixing to coat.
- Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
Consider adding a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
