Description

A delicious dessert combining ripe bananas with a soft, cake-like topping. Perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • Whipped cream or ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sliced bananas, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Gently mix and spread into a greased baking dish.
  3. Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter over the banana mixture in the baking dish without stirring.
  5. Bake for about 40-45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Don’t overmix the batter for a light texture.
