Description
A comforting and simple slow cooker meal featuring tender steak bites, buttery potatoes, and aromatic garlic, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lb steak (cut into bite-sized pieces, preferably sirloin or ribeye)
- 1.5 lb potatoes (baby Yukon gold or red)
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup butter (unsalted)
- 1 cup beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by cutting the steak into bite-sized pieces. Aim for uniform sizes to ensure even cooking. Set the steak slices aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
- Next, wash the baby potatoes thoroughly. If you are using larger potatoes, cut them into halves or quarters. Smaller potatoes can remain whole. Set them aside as well.
- Mince the garlic cloves finely so they release their wonderful flavor into the dish.
- In your slow cooker, place the steak bites, baby potatoes, and minced garlic. Arrange them in a way that allows for even cooking.
- Take the butter and melt it in a microwave or a small saucepan. Once melted, drizzle it generously over the steak and potato mixture. Ensure all pieces are nicely coated with the rich, flavorful butter.
- Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the meat and potatoes. The beef broth will add moisture and enhance the flavors during cooking.
- Season the dish with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients, making sure the salt and pepper are evenly distributed.
- Set your slow cooker to low and let it cook for 6 to 8 hours. If possible, avoid the temptation to peek inside. The more you open the lid, the longer it will take to cook.
- After 6 to 8 hours, check for doneness. The steak should be tender, and the potatoes should be fork-tender. If they are not, allow some extra time.
- Once cooked, give everything a gentle stir to mix the flavors. The melted garlic butter will coat everything nicely, making it visually appealing and delicious.
- Serve your Easy Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Steak Bites & Potatoes Delight hot. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for that pop of color and added freshness.
Notes
For added flavor, consider including other vegetables like carrots or green beans. Fresh herbs can enhance the aromatics of the dish, and you can experiment with different proteins such as shrimp or chicken.
