Ingredients

- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- ½ cup diced onions (optional)
- ½ cup chopped green bell peppers (optional)
- A pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add diced onions and green bell peppers, cooking until soft and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add rice to the pan and stir for 2 minutes to toast slightly.
- Pour in chicken or vegetable broth, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
- Let sit, covered, for 5 minutes after cooking.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve as a side dish.
Notes
For added flavor, use broth instead of water and adjust spices to taste.
