- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the all-purpose flour, sourdough starter, water, and salt in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Gently fold in the fresh blueberries and sugar if using, being careful not to squish them.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rest at room temperature for 6-8 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside.
- After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf on parchment paper and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
- Carefully transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Make sure your sourdough starter is active and bubbly for best results. Experiment with different berries or nuts for variations.
