Rich Scalloped Potatoes

Description

A creamy and cheesy side dish featuring layers of thinly sliced potatoes, onions, and cheese, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the cream of chicken soup and milk in a large bowl, stirring until well blended.
  3. Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  4. Add half of the onions on top of the potatoes and then half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the layered ingredients.
  6. Repeat the layering with the remaining ingredients, finishing with the cream mixture.
  7. Season with salt and pepper and dot with butter.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For variation, consider adding garlic, different vegetables, or using a gluten-free soup.
