Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Additional granulated sugar for rolling
  • 30 unwrapped Hershey Kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Cream the margarine and peanut butter in a large mixing bowl, then add granulated and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients carefully, avoiding overmixing.
  6. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.
  7. Space the cookie balls on prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake in the oven for 13-14 minutes until the edges are golden.
  9. Add a Hershey Kiss to the center of each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven.
  10. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  11. Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
