Description
These Parmesan Onion Ring Chips are crispy, cheesy, and irresistibly crunchy — the ultimate homemade snack! Thinly sliced onions baked until golden with savory Parmesan create a lighter, flavor-packed alternative to traditional onion rings.
Ingredients
1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp black pepper
Cooking spray or olive oil spray
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Separate onion slices into rings.
3. In a small bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
4. Lightly spray parchment paper with cooking spray.
5. Place onion rings on the baking sheet in a single layer.
6. Sprinkle Parmesan mixture evenly over each onion ring.
7. Lightly spray tops with cooking spray.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden and crispy.
9. Remove from oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes to crisp up further.
10. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the crispiest results.
Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven or air fryer to re-crisp.
