Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the mozzarella cheese sticks in half if you want shorter sticks.
  2. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with seasonings.
  3. Take each mozzarella stick and dip it into the flour, then the eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat the oil over medium heat in a deep skillet.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded cheese sticks into the skillet in batches.
  6. Fry them until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to drain the excess oil on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a firmer texture, freeze the breaded cheese sticks for 30 minutes before frying.
