Description

A quick and flavorful Asian dish featuring tender flank steak in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the flank steak into thin slices against the grain.
  2. Combine the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch in a bowl. Let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  6. Stir in brown sugar and water, mixing well and simmering until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Toss in sliced green onions and cook for an additional minute.
  8. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

For added flavor, consider garnishing with extra green onions or sesame seeds. Pair with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
