Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour in the buttermilk and mix until smooth.
- In a small bowl, combine cocoa powder with hot water to form a smooth paste.
- Mix half of the vanilla batter with the cocoa paste to create the chocolate batter.
- Layer the batters alternately in the greased loaf pan and swirl them together with a knife.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
