Description
Crispy, caramelized Brussels sprouts brushed with a sweet maple glaze and roasted on skewers — a fun, flavorful twist on a classic veggie side that’s impossible to resist.
Ingredients
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4–6 wooden or metal skewers
1 tbsp chopped toasted pecans (optional)
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or preheat grill to medium-high.
2. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
3. Toss Brussels sprouts in the glaze until evenly coated.
4. Thread Brussels sprouts onto skewers, leaving a bit of space between each piece.
5. Arrange on a baking sheet or grill and roast for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and caramelized.
6. Brush with extra glaze and sprinkle with toasted pecans or red pepper flakes before serving.
Notes
Soak wooden skewers in water for 15 minutes before using to prevent burning.
Use smaller sprouts for quicker, more even cooking.
Add a drizzle of Dijon mustard to the glaze for a tangy punch.
Sprinkle crumbled bacon over the skewers for a smoky twist.
Serve warm as a party appetizer or side with grilled meats.
