- 1 lb chicken, boneless, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper, crushed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 red chilies, sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and crushed black pepper for a crispy texture.
- Heat the Oil: In a large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- Cook the Chicken: Add the chicken to the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Stir Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add garlic, onion, bell pepper, and optional chilies. Stir fry for about 2-3 minutes.
- Combine with Chicken: Return cooked chicken to the pan and mix with vegetables.
- Add Sauces and Simmer: Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and water. Stir and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Final Touch: Serve your Black Pepper Chicken hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
For added flavor, you can marinate the chicken for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
