Ingredients
8 oz halloumi cheese, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano or za’atar
1/4 tsp black pepper
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Fresh mint or parsley, for garnish
Optional: honey drizzle or chili flakes for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
2. Pat the halloumi slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
3. Brush both sides of the cheese with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano and pepper.
4. Place the halloumi on the hot grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and grill marks appear.
5. Remove from heat and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
6. Garnish with mint or parsley and serve immediately.
