Description
A rich and indulgent appetizer featuring warm, gooey Brie cheese with a crispy golden crust — perfect for entertaining or an elegant snack. Each bite melts in your mouth, balancing creamy and crunchy textures beautifully.
Ingredients
1 wheel of Brie cheese (8 oz)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
Honey or fruit preserves (optional, for serving)
Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cut the Brie wheel into wedges or rounds, depending on preference.
2. Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs into three separate shallow bowls.
3. Season the flour with salt and pepper.
4. Coat each piece of Brie first in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat evenly with breadcrumbs.
5. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more.
6. Place coated Brie pieces on a tray and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
7. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
8. Fry Brie pieces in batches until golden brown and crisp, about 1–2 minutes per side.
9. Remove and drain on paper towels.
10. Serve warm with honey or fruit preserves and garnish with herbs if desired.
Notes
Chill the Brie briefly before breading for easier handling.
Try drizzling with hot honey or pairing with cranberry sauce for a festive touch.
Use panko breadcrumbs for an extra crunchy texture.
