Description

A delicious and satisfying take on the classic Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich using ground beef, sautéed onions, and melted provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion to the skillet. Cook while stirring occasionally until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper and cook until browned.
  4. While the beef is cooking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Assemble the hoagies by filling the rolls with the beef and onion mixture.
  6. Top each hoagie with shredded provolone cheese.
  7. Place the hoagies on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, consider sautéing bell peppers or mushrooms with the onions, or try different types of cheese for variety.
