- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for toasting rolls
Instructions
- Sauté the onions: Heat a skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions, and cook until translucent, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Cook the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, break it up and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 7 to 10 minutes.
- Melt the cheese: Reduce heat to low, layer provolone cheese over the beef, cover, and let sit for 2 to 3 minutes until melted.
- Toast the hoagie rolls: Butter one side of the rolls and toast them butter-side down in another skillet until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into the toasted rolls evenly.
- Serve hot: Enjoy the sandwiches right away with your favorite sides.
