Description

A delicious twist on the classic Philly Cheesesteak with savory ground beef, melted provolone cheese, and toasted hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for toasting rolls

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onions: Heat a skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions, and cook until translucent, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Cook the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, break it up and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 7 to 10 minutes.
  3. Melt the cheese: Reduce heat to low, layer provolone cheese over the beef, cover, and let sit for 2 to 3 minutes until melted.
  4. Toast the hoagie rolls: Butter one side of the rolls and toast them butter-side down in another skillet until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches: Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into the toasted rolls evenly.
  6. Serve hot: Enjoy the sandwiches right away with your favorite sides.

Notes

Consider serving with crispy fries or a side salad. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
