Description
This Garlic Sesame Bok Choy Stir Fry is veggie magic in minutes — tender-crisp bok choy tossed in a savory, garlicky sesame sauce. Quick, flavorful, and healthy, it’s the perfect side or light main for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
1 lb baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tsp honey or maple syrup
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
1 green onion, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
1. Rinse bok choy thoroughly and pat dry.
2. In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat.
3. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Add bok choy, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey. Toss well to coat.
5. Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bok choy is tender but still crisp.
6. Sprinkle with chili flakes (if using) and sesame seeds.
7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot as a side or over rice/noodles.
Notes
For extra umami, add a splash of oyster or hoisin sauce.
Pair with tofu, shrimp, or chicken for a heartier meal.
Don’t overcook — bok choy should stay bright green and crunchy.
Perfect with jasmine rice or as a topping for ramen bowls!
