- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
- ½ teaspoon pepper, to taste
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
- ½ pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar)
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the pre-baked pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
- Sauté the vegetables in melted butter for 3-4 minutes.
- Add garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika, cooking for another minute.
- Cook the shrimp until pink, about 2-3 minutes.
- Thicken the mixture with flour, then whisk in heavy cream and milk.
- Add shredded cheese until melted.
- Fill the pie crust with the shrimp mixture.
- Prepare the topping with panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and Parmesan.
- Top the pie with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with a salad or steamed veggies for a complete meal. Can be refrigerated for 3-4 days.
