- 1 cup chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the chocolate cake mix instructions, usually at 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13 inch cake pan by greasing and dusting with flour.
- Mix the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Poke holes throughout the cake once cooled for 10 minutes, using a wooden spoon handle.
- Combine evaporated milk, granulated sugar, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans in a saucepan; cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until thick.
- Pour the coconut-pecan topping over the warm cake.
- Cool the cake completely, then spread with chocolate frosting.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
