Description
A delicious, hearty lasagna made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound extra-lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 yellow onion (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 jar jarred tomato sauce (any variety)
- 9 sheets lasagna noodles (oven-ready or regular)
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 bunch fresh basil (or parsley)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop the yellow onion and mince the garlic. Break regular lasagna noodles as needed.
- Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (or turkey) with the onion and garlic until soft. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add Tomato Sauce: Stir the jarred tomato sauce into the skillet and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Layer the Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the crockpot, add 3 noodles, half of the ricotta, a layer of mozzarella, and basil. Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used, ending with meat sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for about 4 to 6 hours.
- Serve: Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before slicing and serve hot.
Notes
Allow the lasagna to rest before serving for easier slicing. Experiment with different sauces and cheeses for variety.
