  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • Pink gel food coloring
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Pink cake crumbs or cookie crumbs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the large egg, egg yolk, and extracts; mix until well combined.
  4. Color your dough with pink gel food coloring until your desired shade is achieved.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk them together.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Scoop portions of the dough and roll them into balls.
  8. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper, place cookie balls, and gently flatten them.
  9. Bake in the oven for 10–12 minutes until the edges are set.
  10. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet completely.
  11. Make the frosting by combining cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  12. Frost each cooled cookie generously and garnish with crumbs.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and texture. Adjust the amount of food coloring for a vibrant hue.
