Description
A delightful dish of shrimp cooked in garlic butter and white wine, served over pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. As the butter melts, it will create a rich base for the other flavors to blend.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté the garlic until it becomes fragrant, which should take about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it can turn bitter.
- Next, add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side. They will turn pink when they are cooked through, indicating they are ready.
- Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes, letting the flavors marry together.
- Finally, add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the garlic butter sauce and heated through.
- Serve the dish hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor.
Notes
For a complete meal, pair with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. A chilled glass of white wine complements the dish perfectly.
