Description

A delightful dish of shrimp cooked in garlic butter and white wine, served over pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. As the butter melts, it will create a rich base for the other flavors to blend.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté the garlic until it becomes fragrant, which should take about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it can turn bitter.
  4. Next, add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side. They will turn pink when they are cooked through, indicating they are ready.
  5. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes, letting the flavors marry together.
  6. Finally, add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the garlic butter sauce and heated through.
  7. Serve the dish hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor.

Notes

For a complete meal, pair with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. A chilled glass of white wine complements the dish perfectly.
