- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan to prevent sticking as the bread bakes.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.
- Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
- Add in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract and stir until well mixed.
- Incorporate the flour into the mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chopped walnuts if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter.
