  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix creamy peanut butter and softened unsalted butter until smooth.
  3. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, mix well, then add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mix gently until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped peanuts if using.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly underbaked.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.
