- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup vanilla custard
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pour warm milk into a bowl, sprinkle the yeast over the milk, and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes to activate.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the activated yeast mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients; stir to form a dough.
- Gradually mix in the softened butter and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the risen dough, divide into golf ball-sized pieces, shape them into balls, and flatten slightly.
- Place a spoonful of vanilla custard and a few chocolate chips in the center of each flattened ball; fold and seal.
- Arrange filled brioches on a parchment-lined tray, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and fluffy.
- Cool on a wire rack and serve warm.
Notes
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle glaze for added sweetness. Serve with coffee, tea, or fresh fruit.
