Ingredients
Cake:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 cup milk
2 tbsp instant coffee granules dissolved in 2 tbsp hot water
Caramel Coffee Buttercream:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup caramel sauce
1 tbsp instant coffee granules dissolved in 1 tbsp hot water
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Mix in vanilla extract and dissolved coffee.
6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing just until combined.
7. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
8. Bake for 28–32 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
9. Cool cakes completely before frosting.
10. For the buttercream, beat butter until creamy.
11. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in caramel sauce, dissolved coffee, vanilla, and salt.
12. Frost cake layers and decorate as desired.
Notes
Use high-quality caramel sauce for best flavor.
Chill cake layers briefly before frosting for cleaner edges.
Drizzle extra caramel on top for an elegant finish.
