Description

A simple and hearty meal combining ground meat, rice, and cabbage, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground meat, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned.
  3. Stir in the cooked rice, chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes (if using), salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
  5. If using cheese, top the casserole with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  8. Once done, take it out of the oven, serve hot, and enjoy.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, replace meat with lentils or beans. You can also add more vegetables for nutritional boost.
