  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Ice cream (vanilla or your favorite flavor)
  • Maraschino cherries for topping
  • Chocolate sauce for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Drop dollops of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are set but centers are soft.
  10. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Top each cookie with a scoop of ice cream, drizzle with chocolate sauce, and add a maraschino cherry.
