Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
6–8 fresh strawberries, sliced
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tbsp milk
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
2 tbsp strawberry jam (optional, for glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Roll out puff pastry slightly and cut into 6 equal squares.
4. Spoon a tablespoon of cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
5. Top with a few strawberry slices and fold corners slightly inward for a rustic look.
6. Beat egg with milk to create an egg wash and brush over pastry edges.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
8. (Optional) Warm strawberry jam slightly and brush over baked pastries for a glossy finish.
9. Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
10. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a touch of lemon zest to the cream cheese filling.
Use frozen puff pastry directly from the fridge — too warm and it won’t puff properly.
