Description

Delicious homemade waffles that are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare your equipment: First, you need a waffle maker. Plug it in to heat up while you prepare the batter.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir these ingredients together using a whisk.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: In another bowl, crack the eggs and beat them lightly. Then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk well until all the wet ingredients are combined.
  4. Combine both mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined.
  5. Grease the waffle maker: Lightly grease the preheated waffle maker with a little oil or non-stick spray.
  6. Cook the waffles: Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the heated waffle maker, usually about 1/2 to 3/4 cup. Cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the waffles: Carefully open the waffle maker and use a fork or tongs to gently lift the waffles out.
  8. Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the waffle maker again if needed.
  9. Serve warm: Enjoy the waffles as soon as they are done for the best taste and texture!

Notes

For crisper waffles, add a tablespoon of cornstarch to the flour mixture. You can also use buttermilk instead of regular milk for added flavor.
