Description
Delicious homemade waffles that are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare your equipment: First, you need a waffle maker. Plug it in to heat up while you prepare the batter.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir these ingredients together using a whisk.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In another bowl, crack the eggs and beat them lightly. Then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk well until all the wet ingredients are combined.
- Combine both mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined.
- Grease the waffle maker: Lightly grease the preheated waffle maker with a little oil or non-stick spray.
- Cook the waffles: Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the heated waffle maker, usually about 1/2 to 3/4 cup. Cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the waffles: Carefully open the waffle maker and use a fork or tongs to gently lift the waffles out.
- Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the waffle maker again if needed.
- Serve warm: Enjoy the waffles as soon as they are done for the best taste and texture!
Notes
For crisper waffles, add a tablespoon of cornstarch to the flour mixture. You can also use buttermilk instead of regular milk for added flavor.
