Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 medium bananas (ripe)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread baking dish.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.
- Add eggs, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla to the bananas and whisk until combined.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until smooth.
- Fold in chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, covering with foil if the top browns too quickly.
- Check for doneness with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the bread is ready.
- Let cool in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Enjoy banana bread plain, with butter, or cream cheese. Pairs well with fresh fruit.
