Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and the egg. Stir in the mashed banana.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  7. Roll the dough into a rectangle shape and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the cut rolls into a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  12. Drizzle or spread the frosting over the warm rolls and enjoy.

Notes

Best served warm; can be enjoyed with coffee or tea. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
