Description

A simple and delicious banana bread recipe that’s perfect for using up overripe bananas.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  5. Incorporate the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract; stir until smooth.
  6. Add the flour and fold until just incorporated.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes, then on a wire rack until completely cool.

Notes

For a touch of luxury, try adding nuts or chocolate chips to the batter.
