Description

A delightful dish combining the savory goodness of chicken with the sweet and tangy flavors of apples and maple syrup, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 cups apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides and sear for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. In a bowl, mix together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, chicken broth, and thyme.
  4. Place seared chicken in a baking dish, pour the maple mixture over it, and top with sliced apples.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, ensuring the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Remove from oven and serve warm.

Notes

Select sweet-tart apples like Gala or Honeycrisp for best flavor. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
