Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg

1/2 cup hot coffee or hot water
Strawberry Buttercream:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries, ground into powder
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp milk or cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
5. Pour in the hot coffee (or water) and mix until batter is smooth and glossy.
6. Divide the batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling about 2/3 full.
7. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Cool cupcakes completely before frosting.
9. For the strawberry buttercream, beat butter until fluffy, then add strawberry powder and powdered sugar gradually.
10. Add milk and vanilla extract; whip until smooth and creamy.
11. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and top with fresh strawberry halves.
