Description

A quick and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces of spaghetti
  • 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Season with salt and mix well.
  5. Plate the spaghetti and sprinkle with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Notes

Serve with a side salad and crusty bread. For added flavor, pair with a glass of white wine.
