Description
A quick and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 ounces of spaghetti
- 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Season with salt and mix well.
- Plate the spaghetti and sprinkle with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
Serve with a side salad and crusty bread. For added flavor, pair with a glass of white wine.
